JobHunt with Hope

Frequently asked questions

Is JobHunt with Hope free?

Yes. JobHunt with Hope is completely free and open-source under the MIT license. There is no paid tier, no account, and no credit card — you use the AI agent you already have.

Is my data safe and private?

Yes. Your career facts live in a single file on your own computer. There is no tracking and no account. Nothing leaves your machine except the portfolio page you explicitly choose to publish.

Do I need to know how to code?

No coding is required. You talk to your AI agent in plain language and it builds the portfolio and resume for you.

Which AI agents does it work with?

It works with the AI agents most people already use, including ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. You can install it as a Claude plugin, or point any capable assistant at the open skills.

What do I get at the end?

A whole job hunt, not just documents: a designed portfolio website with a playable career timeline, a recruiter-ready resume (CV) that survives applicant tracking systems, one free shareable link in your name, an honest skill-gap read with a growth plan, a board of real jobs Hope found and verified, applications filled and sent with your approval — and one private dashboard tracking all of it.

Can Hope find me jobs?

Yes — say "find me jobs." Hope asks what you're after and how many openings to bring back, then scrapes the web: the big job boards and the company career pages most tools miss. It checks every single posting is still open before you see it, grades each one honestly against your real experience, and nothing lands on your board without your yes.

Can Hope apply to jobs for me?

Yes — say "apply for me." If your AI can drive a browser (Claude in Chrome, ChatGPT agent mode, Gemini, Copilot), Hope fills each application while you watch: every field is shown before it's filled, your cover letter is drafted from your real story, and nothing is submitted until you say "send it." No browser mode? Hope preps every answer in chat and you paste them in. LinkedIn and Indeed don't allow automated applying, so there Hope guides and you click.

What if I'm not ready for the role I want?

That's exactly what the skill-gap and proof-project skills are for. Hope measures the honest distance between you and the role, then builds a growth plan — one or two projects that close your biggest gaps fastest — before you search and apply. So when the interview comes, you walk in ready.

How do I keep track of everything?

The dashboard — one private page with two simple views: your skill gaps and the plan to close them, and your jobs board with every application's status in plain words, from Found to Offer. It updates as Hope works, lives on your computer, and is yours alone.

Will it actually get me hired?

No tool can promise that — and anyone who does is selling you something. What Hope does do is get your real work in front of people, looking sharp, today. That part is in your hands, and it is free.
